Glen Foerd on the Delaware

“Philadelphia’s last remaining Delaware River estate open to the public.”
Glen Foerd on the Delaware‘s mission is to connect visitors to the legacy of Glen Foerd through programs in the arts, nature and history and to preserve and protect the landscape, buildings and collections for the enjoyment and enrichment of the community and future generations.”

Philadelphia Waterborne began its partnership with Glen Foerd during the summer of 2014, and Waterborne currently houses its main woodworking shop in the 100-year old Glen Foerd Carriage House.
Glen Foerd occupies a uniquely beautiful site in the far northeast of Philadelphia, at a broad bend in the Delaware River at its conjunction with Poquessing Creek.  This is a fine location for environmental education, summer programming, and, eventually, for student boating.  The two organizations are jointly exploring opportunities for adding dock facilities to enable this to happen.
